Do I need a referral?
No. You only need a referral if you are funded by The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), or if you have been placed on a Management Plan such as the Enhanced Primary Care Plan by your GP (see Medicare details below).
PLEASE NOTE: I am currently not able to take Workcover or TAC funded patients.
Can I get a Medicare rebate?
Medicare only provides a rebate on Occupational Therapy costs if your GP has placed you on a Chronic Disease Management Plan (also known as the EPC, Extended Care Plan). These plans allow up to 5 sessions per calendar year.
To find out if you are eligible, please talk to your GP.
If eligible, you will still need to pay upfront for your consultation, then claim your Medicare rebate.
The current Medicare rebate is $54.60.
Can I claim through private health insurance?
Occupational Therapy can be rebated through your private health fund extras cover, depending on your level of cover. Please check with your health insurer prior to your appointment.
I am also BUPA certified to provide custom orthotics that are rebatable.
